Along wooden boardwalks through the peatland
De Peel is still marshy in many places. Thanks to the wooden boardwalks and small bridges, you can explore the area while keeping your feet dry. The route takes you through a landscape where water and peat play an important role.
Old peatland tracks and tall ferns
The route follows old tracks through the peatland. Tracks that are no longer used as walking paths have become overgrown with bracken. These ferns can grow as tall as a person and thrive in places where peat is still present in the ground.
Along the way, you pass a birdwatching hide and an observation tower. Take some time to look around before continuing your walk through the peatland landscape of De Peel.
